An Overview
The University of Toronto Space Design Contest (UTSDC) is an organization that provides educational programming in science, engineering, and space exploration for secondary students. By employing inspiring speakers and design challenges, students are able to creatively apply their math and science knowledge, while learning about engineering design principles, astronomy, and space development in a rich, interactive environment.
Each year, UTSDC presents a space project to teams of students who are tasked to design and present a proposal to a panel of judges during the Design Conference in May. Distinguished professors and members of the space industry judge and provide quality feedback to students' proposals and designs. To prepare students for the contest, UTSDC offers space education workshop series during the year.
UTSDC is directed by engineering students from the University of Toronto and is affiliated with the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies.
